There are so many ways you can help the PTA – big and small! Perhaps you could spare 45 minutes once a week for yard duty, or help judge a poster competition. Do you bake great cookies or have a flair for costume-making? There are so many ways to be involved. Here are some of the forthcoming events we would love some help with:

All students at Rolling Hills Middle School have the
opportunity to experience learning through various experiences. There are whole school and grade-specific events for which parental volunteers are always needed. Please contact the relevant staff member for more information on helping out at any of these events.

Colonial Day – Parent volunteers are requested to
assist with the experience of daily living in the early Colonial
period. Students participate in hands on activities which provide
insight into the way of life experienced over 200 years ago.
Field trips – 5th Grade students visit places like:
San Francisco Maritime Museum and Fort Point
Theaterworks' plays like Anne Frank
Forestry presentations at Sanborn Park, Saratoga
Fitzgerald Marine Reserve at Moss Beach for tidepool exploration

Ancient Societies Day in the spring – we need parent volunteers for this fun event.
Science Camp – parent volunteers are needed as
student chaperones; students and volunteers learn about the habitat of
animals, astrology and even garbology!

Renaissance Day – parent volunteers are needed for this walk through a day in the Era of Renaissance. The students dress in the attire of the period and learn about alchemy, painting d'Angelo style, and catapulting. A truly fun event for all who participate!
Human Disease Project
Promotion (graduation) Party Planning – this committee meets in regularly to continue the planning.
Exhibition Project – parent volunteers may be needed throughout the year to assist students with various phases of the project. In May we need volunteers to help evaluate the presentations.
